THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHT LEGEND (A Arries) jumped slow, losing one length b) GOLDEN GREY (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey O Noach reported that JOHNNY DRAMA took no interest in the early stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of WHAT AGAIN (J Solomons), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of GLOBAL REEF he misused his crop by striking GLOBAL REEF more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. d) CONGRESSMAN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
