THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TANNERON (A Andrews) was restless in the stalls, rushed the front gates and threw its head up as the start was effected, losing three lengths. b) ROCCAPINA (A Domeyer) and LA DIVINA (C Orffer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to TANNERON (A Andrews) in stall gate one and established that this filly had rushed the front gates as the start was effected and, as a consequence, had lost ground. The Stewards were satisfied that this filly had not been impeded and any loss of ground was due to her own behaviour. b) Shortly after the start BOMBER GIRL (D Ashby), turned its head awkwardly to the left and, as a consequence, lost momentum. c) Jockey G van Niekerk was unable to ride CHAMPAGNE KISSES to the finish when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PINK PIGEON (K Matsunyane), which shifted in marginally away from ROCCAPINA (A Domeyer) at the finish. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding TANNERON (A Andrews), Trainer C Bass-Robinson will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) ROCCAPINA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
