THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GIMME A STORM (+S Valjalo) reared in the stalls.
b) PRETTY PRECIOUS (+C Mabaya) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) TOUCH OF HEAVEN (+S Mkhumbuzi) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) As the start was effected, GIMME A STORM (+S Valjalo) and TOUCH OF HEAVEN (+S Mkhumbuzi) were squeezed out when awkwardly placed between DRAGON DRAGON (+A Ndeve) and PRETTY PRECIOUS (+C Mabaya), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. Thereafter, approaching the 1000m, TOUCH OF HEAVEN (+S Mkhumbuzi), which proved difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of DRAGON DRAGON (+A Ndeve).
b) Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline G on the use of the crop) in that he struck TOUCH OF HEAVEN when out of contention for a place. Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race.
Suspension date: 12 December 2024.
c) Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi was charged with an additional infringement for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking TOUCH OF HEAVEN forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race.
Suspension date: 24 December 2024.
d) ABBEY'S VIEW (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
