DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, MOCHA FRAPPE (K A BREWER) BECAME RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE STALLS. THIS GELDING WAS RESTRAINED BY THE RIDER, RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, DECLARED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) During the loading process, MOCHA FRAPPE (K A Brewer) broke through the front gates. This gelding was returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer A G Laird to be advised.
b) BIG BOY BRUCE (M van Rensburg) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) BUFFALO STORM CODY (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) TINTAMARRE (N Klink) was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between BUFFALO STORM CODY (G Lerena), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and BIG BOY BRUCE (M van Rensburg), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) Leaving the 200m, TINTAMARRE (N Klink) was steadied outwards away from the heels of POTBERRIE (M K Katjedi), which rolled in and was immediately corrected.
c) Jockey J R Syster (RYANS BOULEVARD) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey J R Syster reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) Jockey G Lerena reported that BUFFALO STORM CODY did not stride out freely in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with THERES A LIGHT in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) Jockey K A Brewer reported that MOCHA FRAPPE took no interest in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g) Jockey C Maujean reported that GUERILLA WARFARE changed stride continually in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MOCHA FRAPPE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 29 November 2024 to 3 December 2024. MOCHA FRAPPE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A G Laird to be advised.
i) CONFEDERATE (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

j) COUNT INVICTO (J Penny), placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

e) GUERILLA WARFARE not striding out in front.
