THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BIG SPENDER (J Gates) was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race, causing a delay.
b) ALADO'S HABIT (X Ndlovu) and BIG SPENDER (J Gates) were stubborn loading, causing a further delay.
c) HAT MONTERA (C Maujean) was reluctant to load.
d) CHOC' LATE (DB Geerthsen) was nervous in the stalls.
e) SHOUT AT THE MOON (S Khathi) and REGINAL LOU (E Webber) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) BIG SPENDER (J Gates) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with CHLOE'S DANCER (M Mjoka) shortly after the start.
b) ALADO'S HABIT (X Ndlovu) shifted out away from the crop at the 300m.
c) ALPINE DIAMOND (Y Ramzan) was hanging out from the 300m and was corrected.
d) CHOC' LATE (DB Geerthsen) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 250m.
e) WALKONTHEWILDSIDE (R Fourie) was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop from the 150m.
f) PALACE OF JUSTICE (K Matsunyane) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders)
g) Jockey S Khathi appeared before the Board and was advised to extend his arm when using his crop to ensure that he makes contact with his horse's hindquarters when using his crop.
h) Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised to ride his horse across the finish line to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards.
i) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ALADO'S HABIT (X Ndlovu), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/11/2024 to 06/12/2024 inclusive). ALADO'S HABIT may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
j) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BIG SPENDER (J Gates), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/11/2024 to 06/12/2024 inclusive). BIG SPENDER may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
k) WALKONTHEWILDSIDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
