THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE PALACE (K Matsunyane) was unruly behind the stalls and stubborn loading. b) GOLDEN CORN (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading. c) DAWN OF GOLD (M van Rensburg) and GREEN FAME (KA Brewer) jumped slow, losing one length. d) LA PEQUENITA (K Minnie) and COLORAMA (Y Ramzan) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VINTAGE CRYSTAL (C Little) had to steady momentarily off the heels of BLUE PALACE (K Matsunyane), which shifted outwards at approximately the 600m. b) COLORAMA (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 250m. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with GOLDEN CORN. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) In view of the performance of VINTAGE CRYSTAL (C Little) (Betting 10/1; drifted from 4/1; Distance 9.35 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BLUE PALACE (K Matsunyane) and GOLDEN CORN (D Schwarz), Trainers SB Kotzen and JVA Strydom respectively will be advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) ARABIAN RED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
