THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) was carried outwards and had to be steadied on the inside of SUCHALIFE (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards at the start. b) GINGER PALACE (C Habib) and CANFORD QUEEN (E Webber) bumped shortly after the start. c) SUNDROP (K Steyn) had to be steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of GOLD FOR AFRICA (KA Brewer), which shifted in slightly at approximately the 1800m. d) At approximately the 250m GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) shifted outward and carried CHRONICLESOFNANIA (C Maujean) outwards. As a consequence, CHRONICLESOFNANIA (C Maujean) had to be steadied off the heels of GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) for a number of strides. Jockey Y Ramzan was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GALAXY MOMENT he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CHRONICLESOFNANIA when he shifted outwards at approximately the 250m. Jockey Y Ramzan signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) e) FIRST WISH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) f) MILLENNIUM DANCER, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
