THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEVENTH FLEET (C Maujean) and LADY BOMBER (K Matsunyane) were restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DORSET (J P van der Merwe) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Thereafter, Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with this colt in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) KALEESH CYBORG (R A Venniker) took an awkward stride shortly after the start. c) SUMMER WINTER (*N Nastili) hung in from the 200m. d) ESPINOZA (P Strydom) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performance of ENDIZAYO (P Mxoli), (distance 15,25 lengths, betting 40/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) HONG KONG (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
