THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, MELECH (S Moodley), which closed the race off strongly, was carried in by PISTOL PETE (K Matsunyane), which shifted in away from the crop without correction. Assistant Trainer C Botha called for a race review regarding this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer R R Magner on behalf of the third-placed horse, MELECH (S Moodley), against the second-placed horse, PISTOL PETE (K Matsunyane), on the grounds of intimidation and interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after viewing the patrol films of the race, hearing all the evidence presented and considering the proximity of the incident to the finish and the finishing margin of 0,5 lengths between these horses, found that they could not be comfortably satisfied that the result had been affected by the incident and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Trainer R R Magner's deposit was refunded. Jockey K Matsunyane (PISTOL PETE) appeared before the Board, was advised to make more of an effort to keep his mounts straight in races and take the necessary corrective measures sooner when shifting ground. b) MOUNT PILATUS (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CATS PAJAMAS: Jockey S Veale weighed out at 52,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) HALBERDIER raced without blinkers (declared 26 November 2024 at 08H46). b) GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 26 November 2024 at 09H40). c) QUANTUM THEORY raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 29 November 2024 at 07H51). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SHELDON cast its right front shoe in running. b) MAGIC TATTOO scalp wound right hind. c) AFTER THE RAIN lame left front.
