THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OLIVIA'S WAY (R Fourie) and MISS SCALETTA (P Mxoli) were restless in the stalls. b) DESTINY OF FIRE (J P van der Merwe) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, WORLD OF ALICE (C Zackey) was steadied momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of STREISAND (M K Katjedi), which was encouraged forward to obtain a run on the inside running rail when just not clear. Apprentice M K Katjedi appeared before the Board and was advised to be more mindful of the proximity of other runners when shifting ground in races. b) At approximately the 1200m, OXALIS GOLD (M van Rensburg), which commenced to over-race, was directed outwards to avoid the heels of VJ'S ANGEL (G Lerena). c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with THEATRE OF LIFE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that CORAL BLAZE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) An inquiry will be opened into Jockey C Zackey's (WORLD OF ALICE) use of the crop during the running of this race. f) WORLD OF ALICE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
