THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m CALL TO UNITE (G van Niekerk) and LOVE IS A ROSE (A Arries) were carried inwards by HOLDING THUMBS (S Veale), which shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) Jockey A Arries (LOVE IS A ROSE) dropped his right-side rein at the 50m, which he only regained after the finish. c) In view of the performance of ALLEZ MORIS (K Matsunyane), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) HOLDING THUMBS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
