The start of this race was delayed due to WINGS OF JOSEPHINE (*S Bungane) proving difficult proceeding to the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RADIANT HEAT (*J Botes) was restless in the stalls and reared over. This filly was removed and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. b) WINGS OF JOSEPHINE (*S Bungane) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. c) SEEKING SPACE (C Maujean) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ROY'S GRACE (T Godden) and DRESSEDTOTHENINES (*M Mbuto) were hanging in throughout. b) In view of the performances of MISS MAYFLY (K Matsunyane) (7.40 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) and SEEKING SPACE (C Maujean) (13.70 lengths, 17/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) WINGS OF JOSEPHINE (*S Bungane) proved difficult proceeding to the start, causing a delay. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended (JN). d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RADIANT HEAT (*J Botes), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 09.12.2024 to the 15.12.2024. RADIANT HEAT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C Spies was advised.
