THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE POSTMAN (K Steyn) and HAWAII TRACTOR (S Cele) jumped slow, losing one length. b) FIRST IN TOWN (J Solomons) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J Solomons (FIRST IN TOWN) dropped his crop at the 250m. b) Jockey S Cele reported that HAWAII TRACTOR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) In view of the performance of MASTER INCOLOR, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis- used his crop by striking GREENLIGHT SKYE forward of the saddle at the 150m. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. Jockey C Little was further advised that the Stewards had noted his previous contraventions of this Rule and should he continue to transgress this Rule, more severe penalties may apply. e) SCOTTISH KISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
