THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLACK PATH (K Steyn) reared as the start was effected and jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to BLACK PATH (K Steyn) in stall gate 1 and established that the gelding had reared as the start was effected. The Stewards were satisfied that any loss of distance was as a result of BLACK PATH's own behaviour and took no further action. c) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey C Orffer's (TRES CHIC) use of the crop. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BLACK PATH (K Steyn), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load and jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 12/12/2024 to 18/12/2024 inclusive). BLACK PATH may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) HANG OUT THE STARS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JMT Stewart was advised.
