THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLA BOOP BOOP (+V Sithetho) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LACEWING (+T Ncume) over-raced in the early stages. b) The saddle on VILLA SEMAYA (N Jobose) slipped forward shortly after the start which resulted in the lead bag becoming dislodged at the 900m. Work Rider N Jobose's equipment was checked by a member of the Stipendiary Board and found to be in good working order. The Clerk of Scales lodged an objection against VILLA SEMAYA in terms of NHA Rule 68.2.11 in that Work Rider N Jobose weighed in 5,5kg under the weight he weighed out at. After giving regard to the evidence, the objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, VILLA SEMAYA was disqualified. c) At approximately the 1300m, LADY SABRINA (+T Lukhele) was steadied when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and on the inside of CAPTAINS CLOVER (+S B Mthembu), which was carried in by GREAT NOTION (+C Mabaya), which over-raced. d) LADY SABRINA (+T Lukhele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer W Marwing, acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing, was advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) BELLA BOOP BOOP was ridden by Work Rider V Sithetho (declared 12 December 2024 at 12H02). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CAPTAINS CLOVER raced without blinkers, a compression mask and ear muffs (declared 11 December 2024 at 08H44). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) VILLA SEMAYA mild post race distress. b) GREAT NOTION fatigued and blowing. c) BELLA BOOP BOOP fatigued. SCRATCHED: a) DEVILISHLYGORGEOUS lame right front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) GLORIA MUNDI ineligible (winner, Vaal Racecourse, 5 December 2024).
