THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARVED IN STONE was nervous in the stalls, threw its head down as the start was effected and Jockey K Minnie was displaced and left standing on the side boards of the gates in the starting stalls. b) ONE WISH (X Ndlovu) and LADY SONATINE (K Matsunyane) were stubborn loading. c) HER ROYALTY (C Zackey) and TO BE FREE (K Steyn) were nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A Steward called for a race review with regard to CARVED IN STONE (K Minnie) in stall gate 1 and established that this mare was nervous in the stalls, threw its head down as the start was effected and dislodged Jockey K Minnie. The Stewards, after viewing the patrol film, were satisfied that this was as a result of this mare's own behaviour, was not impeded and therefore took no further action. In view of the report from the Starter regarding CARVED IN STONE (K Minnie), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion, stand and jump on terms. (Suspension dates: 14/12/2024 to 27/12/2024 inclusive). CARVED IN STONE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. b) At approximately the 700m OPERA VERSE (D Schwarz) had to steady momentarily off the heels of the riderless CARVED IN STONE, which shifted outwards off the rail. c) Jockey K Matsunyane (LADY SONATINE), in anticipation of the riderless CARVED IN STONE running inwards at an angle, shifted his mount inwards and steadied momentarily off the heels of the riderless CARVED IN STONE at the 300m. d) At approximately the 50m HER ROYALTY (C Zackey), which was hanging inwards, had to steady momentarily off the heels of the riderless CARVED IN STONE, which shifted outwards slightly at the 50m. e) Jockey J Gates reported that CHOC'LATE was not striding out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) HER ROYALTY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
