THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY MAJORCA (K Steyn) and COLORAMA (Y Ramzan) were nervous in the stalls. b) BREEDE BABY (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length. c) TAKE YOUR TIME (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LADY MAJORCA (K Steyn), GREENLIGHT DANCER (R Fourie) and TAKE YOUR TIME (X Ndlovu) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with PUFF OF SMOKE, which over raced in the middle stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) In view of the performance of BOSSY BOOTS, which shortened its stride quickly in the straight and was not persevered with by Jockey Gates from the 150m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) In view of the performance of GREENLIGHT DANCER (R Fourie) (Betting 9/2; Distance 4.60 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) LADY MAJORCA (K Steyn) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) f) POMODORO MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised.
