Steady rain fell during the running of this race. The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of BOWIE (S Veale) at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOWIE (S Veale) refused to load and was withdrawn. b) RODRIGUEZ (S Hlengwa) lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TRAFALGAR SQUARE (C Habib) took an awkward stride at the 250m. Jockey C Habib reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in the running and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) In view of the performance of IBUTHO (A Mgudlwa) (9.70 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BOWIE (S Veale), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.12.2024 to the 20.12.2024. BOWIE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
