THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EL DRAQUE (G Lerena) lost 1 length. b) ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA (*J Botes) jumped with its head up and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TEEREX (T Godden) hung in throughout and was difficult to assist in the concluding stages. b) In view of the performances of STEVIE GEE (C Habib) (4.10 lengths, 7/2 in the betting) and ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA (*J Botes) (3.60 lengths, 14/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey T Godden signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E), in that he mis-used his crop by striking TEEREX forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Accordingly a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) Jockey D Daniels signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E), in that he mis-used his crop by striking NOW I GOT YOU forward of the saddle in the concluding stages.
