THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on RUSSIAN ROYAL (C Zackey) was re-fitted at the start, causing a delay. b) SPOIL YOURSELF (S Veale) and GARDEN OF EDEN (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 100m a tiring RUSSIAN ROYAL (C Zackey) was steadied briefly when close to the heels of GRANDIOSA (G Wright) which rolled in. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that RUSSIAN ROYAL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that GARDEN OF EDEN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey A Andrews reported that he felt something amiss with GLEE CLUB. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey JP van der Merwe was charged with a contravention of Rule 21.7 in that accepted to ride both SENHORA VICTORIA and JET TO THE SUN in the same race.
