THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) On arriving at the start, WIZZ dislodged Jockey J Solomons and bolted the course. WIZZ proved difficult to take in hand, was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a lengthy delay.
b) DUTCHESS D'ORANGE (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls and proved difficult to remove for a veterinary examination. During the delay, GOLDEN IDEAL (S Moodley) in stall gate 2 was removed and the front gate of stall gate 3 was opened to encourage this filly to exit the stalls, causing a further delay. DUTCHESS D'ORANGE (D Schwarz) was examined by the course Veterinary and passed suitable to race, causing a further delay.
c) REGINA TAMARA (A Mgudlwa) was stubborn loading and reared in the stalls.
d) WEHAVEASITUATION (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
e) MONEY EXTRACTOR (M Winnaar) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) From a wide draw, LEAD TO GLORY (K Steyn) was steadied and taken in behind runners shortly after the start.
b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DUTCHESS D'ORANGE (D Schwarz), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 23/12/2024 to 29/12/2024 inclusive). DUTCHESS D'ORANGE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding REGINA TAMARA (A Mgudlwa), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 23/12/2024 to 29/12/2024 inclusive). REGINA TAMARA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) WARBIRD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TL)
