THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PINCH OF SALT (K Minnie), which raced green, failed to muster speed in the early part of the race and raced detached from the field until the 300m. Jockey K Minnie appeared before the Board and was advised not to use his crop when his mount is out of a contention for a place and to ride his mounts hands and heels to the finish. b) SWEET NOTHINGS (R Fourie) had to steady momentarily off the heels of ALADO'S HABIT (M van Rensburg), which had come to the end of its run at approximately the 300m, and was switched out to obtain clear running. c) TIME IN PARIS (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 250m and was corrected. d) SWEET NOTHINGS (R Fourie) raced with its tongue over the bit, shifted inwards into the crop and thereafter shifted outwards shortly before the finish line. e) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that ALADO'S HABIT coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) MILLION REASONS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
