THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VALERIAS DREAM (*D Pillay) jumped awkwardly and thereafter, was slow into stride. b) CONCERTO (K Minnie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) At approximately the 1000m Jockey K Steyn felt something amiss with WHITE HILLS and eased this filly out of the race. As a consequence, VALERIAS DREAM (*D Pillay) and JAMBO SANA (C Zackey) had to take evasive action. WHITE HILLS was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon. This precluded Jockey K Steyn from being able to weigh in. In terms of Rule 66.2 the Stewards were satisfied that WHITE HILLS had carried the correct weight. b) The saddle on JAMBO SANA (C Zackey) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. c) SEPTEMBER FLOWER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
