THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) This race was significantly delayed due to the late arrival of the ambulance and paramedics on course. Race times were amended.
b) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, FAITHFUL MISTRESS (P Mxoli) lifted its left front shoe on the way to the start, which had to be re-fitted. FAITHFUL MISTRESS was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race.
c) During the loading process NEVER ENDING STORY (C Habib) became restless, reared and turned sideways, which resulted in her front legs making contact with MESSALINA (K Matsunyane), which was drawn alongside her. Both fillies were extricated from the stalls, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn, causing a further delay.
d) POTATO SALAD (J Gates) and CAPE SAFFRON (JR Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
e) CHERRY OH BABY (D de Gouveia) and WARNING SOUND (P Strydom) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly after the start, POTATO SALAD (J Gates) was bumped in by CAPE SAFFRON (JR Syster), which jumped inwards.
b) In the concluding stages GIMME PASSION (C Zackey) ducked out sharply and made contact with the outside running rail and thereafter, was hanging out. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding NEVER ENDING STORY (C Habib), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 01/01/2025 to 07/01/2025 inclusive). NEVER ENDING STORY may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) WARNING SOUND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. (MdP)
