THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Shortly before the start was effected PROFESSOR LUPIN (A Mgudlwa) kicked the back gates. b) TRAFALGAR SQUARE (S Veale) became restless and kicked the back gates on two occasions, resulting in TWENTY ONE MAY (K Matsunyane) pre-empting the start and rushing the front gates. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ANDY COOGLE (S Moodley) and in turn TWENTY ONE MAY (K Matsunyane) were bumped out on the outside of ANDY COOGLE (S Moodley) which was carried out by HURRICANE CAT (*J Botes) which jumped out leaving the starting stalls. b) STANLEY PARK (S Sosibo) hung in from the 250m. c) Approaching the 150m IBHELE (C Maujean) which was hanging out from the 300m, was briefly baulked for a clear run. d) Shortly before the finish line LIGHTNING JIMMY (C F Dicken) was accidentally struck on the muzzle by Jockey A Mgudlwa's (PROFESSOR LUPIN) crop. e) In view of the performance of HURRICANE CAT (*J Botes) (5.45 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) FUTURE FLO (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Moore acting on behalf of Trainer M L Roberts advised (SR). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ANDY COOGLE raced fitted with a tongue tie (advised 24.12.2024/13h45). b) TRAFALGAR SQUARE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 28.12.2024/15h04). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TWENTY ONE MAY : Mouth injury. b) STANLEY PARK : Abnormal respiratory noise. c) HURRICANE CAT : Nothing obvious detected.
