THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JOY AND PEACE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After bolting to the start and being restrained by its Rider, UNITED EXPRESS (DB Geerthsen) over raced in the early and middle stages of the race. b) JOY AND PEACE (R Fourie) was eased shortly after the start and taken in behind the field. c) EPIKLEROS (Y Ramzan) was hanging in and shifted inwards away from the crop from the 350m. d) Jockey K Minnie reported that GIDEON'S DAUGHTER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) JOY AND PEACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
