THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLDEN PAVILION (C Zackey) proved difficult and stubborn loading, was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates, causing a delay. b) ARDABIL (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BARZALONA (DB Geerthsen) shifted inwards away from the crop at approximately the 250m. b) ARDABIL (D Schwarz) had to be switched in at approximately the 200m and switched out at the 150m to avoid running onto the heels of GOLDEN PAVILION (C Zackey). Thereafter, these two horses raced in close proximity to the finish line. c) Jockeys K Minnie and C Maujean reported that DUBAI HILLS and GUNSMOKE respectively did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GOLDEN PAVILION (C Zackey) Trainer GD Smith will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) GOLDEN PAVILION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
