THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BRIGHAM (MK Katjedi) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLIGHT ENGINEER (C Maujean) was difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that FUTURENAIRE raced with its tongue over the bit and, as a consequence, was hanging in badly from the 400m and proved difficult to assist. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Trainer PF Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that COPPER CLIFF had been gelded. Trainer PF Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500,00. d) ROYAL FORCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MN Houdalakis was advised.
