THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PINCH OF SALT (K Minnie) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) LANCIAFIAMME (R Fourie) and POENANKIES (*J Botes) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) AMERICAN PITBULL (X Ndlovu) stumbled shortly after the start. b) MITREDAT (DB Geerthsen) over raced in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to settle. c) ALWAYS SHINING (S Khathi) was hanging in from the 300m and was corrected at approximately the 100m. d) Jockey S Khathi (ALWAYS SHINING) appeared before the Board and was advised to give his mounts a chance to respond when using the crop. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding PINCH OF SALT (K Minnie), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a hood with a companion. (Suspension dates: 11/01/2025 to 17/01/2025 inclusive). PINCH OF SALT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) LANCIAFIAMME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
