The start of this Race was delayed due RULE OF LAW pulling its left fore shoe which had to be refitted by the farrier at the start and BLING A DING DING breaking through the front gates, being restrained by the rider, returned behind the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. DIVE CAPTAIN was restless in the stalls. Assistant Trainer Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer Kannemeyer was advised to re-school this filly. BLING A DING DING broke through the front gates, and was re-loaded. In deciding what action to take against this horse, the Board considered its non-history at the start and that it was set off by DIVE CAPTAIN which was in the adjacent stall gate. According, Trainer Naidoo was advised to re-school this filly. FRENCH LEGEND, ROCKING RUBY and RULE OF LAW lost one length, respectively. Jockey Dillon reported that he felt something amiss with SMILEY KYLIE and eased this filly out of the Race at the 600m. In reviewing the form of CANDY GALORE, the Board noted that there was a Veterinary reason for this filly's poor performance on 15 December 2019. Therefore, it elected not to question Trainer Gareth van Zyl. CANDY GALORE and WHIZZ OF ODDS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. STORMY MISS raced with alumites in front, unshod behind. Vet: SMILEY KYLIE - right carpal fracture. Veterinary report required prior to re-entry. Scratched: SARABI - not eating up.
