STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LUCRETIUS (C Zackey) did not parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer C Hewitson will be advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) WOODLAND GLADE (M Yeni) and JAHAM (R Danielson) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) FRENCH TRIP (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 250m. d) Jockey G Wright (HOT STRIKE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages and thereafter reported that he felt something amiss with this mare in the running. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of TIN CUP (T Godden) (15.10 lengths, 75/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) FRENCH TRIP (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
