THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BARNEY MCGREW (A Arries) was restless in the stalls. As a consequence, PEACE OF MIND (M Mjoka), which was drawn alongside, became restless. b) ACROSS THE BOW (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls, rushed the front gates and jumped awkwardly, losing one length. c) IN THE GREEN ZONE (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to ACROSS THE BOW (D Schwarz) in stall gate 7 and established that this gelding had been restless in the stalls, rushed the front gate and jumped awkwardly, losing one length. No further action was taken. b) RAFA BAY (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out throughout. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BARNEY MCGREW (A Arries) and ACROSS THE BOW (D Schwarz), Trainers AD Steyn and MH Maingard respectively will be advised to have these geldings re- schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) BARNEY MCGREW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AD Steyn was advised.
