THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHLOE'S DANCER (D Schwarz) jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right-side front gate of the starting stalls. b) TIK TOK ADDICTION (C Little) and HAT MONTERA (DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 600m CHLOE'S DANCER shortened its stride rapidly, fell and dislodged Jockey D Schwarz. CHLOE'S DANCER was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon. As a consequence, REGINA LOU (K Matsunyane), which was following, had to take evasive action and jumped over the fallen horse. b) MS PATTY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM) c) GLOBAL SCENE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee G Venter, acting on behalf of Trainer TJ Laing, was advised.
