THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on ROMANCE IN ROME (K Steyn) was re-fitted at the start. b) GIMME'S LADDIE (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FIRST ORIGIN (DB Geerthsen) was hanging in throughout. b) After being slow away, GIMME'S LADDIE trailed the field throughout. Jockey C Zackey reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockeys R Fourie and J Gates, the riders of CLIFF TOP and SLIM JANNIE respectively, reported that these geldings did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer AC Greeff and Assistant Trainer F Jacobs respectively were advised to report back should they find anything amiss with these geldings on their return to the stables. d) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with THE WINTER LAKE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
