THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLAINTE MHATH (C Maujean) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. b) NOTHINGELSEMATTERS (C Zackey) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls and was slow into stride. c) ELECTRIC STORM (D Schwarz), PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (R Fourie) and GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 350m PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (R Fourie) was carried in by HAROLD THE DUKE (M Yeni), which shifted in marginally. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was advised to take earlier corrective measures when straightening his mounts in future engagements. b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that ELECTRIC STORM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that SLAINTE MHATH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) HAROLD THE DUKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
