IT'S HER WAY (K MATSUNYANE) PROVED RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START AND HAD TO BE LED BY A HANDLER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A PLACE IN THE SUN (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) STREISAND (M K Katjedi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) IT'S HER WAY (K Matsunyane) proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. This filly is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4, until such time as she proves tractable cantering to the start on a Raceday. Trainer R Klaasen advised (LA). b) Jockey P Strydom reported that A PLACE IN THE SUN took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that BOOM BOOM made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey M K Katjedi reported that STREISAND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of GIMME PASSION (C Zackey), (distance 11,75 lengths, betting 15/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) SECRET RECIPE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CAN'T CATCH ME: Jockey D Schwarz weighed out at 54,4kg, 2kg over the carded weight as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) STREISAND raced with a tongue tie on (declared 27 January 2025 at 08H03.) b) GIMME PASSION raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 27 January 2025 at 08H09). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) A PLACE IN THE SUN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) BOOM BOOM coughing post race. c) STREISAND choked up. d) GIMME PASSION not striding out right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
