THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) A fair start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) LAST ONE STANDING (D Daniels) commenced to give ground to the field from the 350m and was not persevered with. In view of this performace, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) FEW DOLLARS MORE (C F Dicken) hung in and shifted in away from the crop at the 200m.
c) WINTER GAMES (T Godden) which rolled in, was corrected outwards away from the inside running rail at the 100m.
d) The noseband was partially detached from ROYAL SWAN MASTER (A Mgudlwa) in running.
e) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that LINDBERGH did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the performances of OFFICER IN COMMAND (R Danielson) (21.40 lengths, 17/2 in the betting) and LAUDATO (S Hlengwa) (25.60 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) Trainer F Robinson signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within 2 days that the horse FIELD MARSHAL is a gelding. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R250 was imposed.
h) WINTER GAMES (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller was advised (DZ).
