The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process CHARA SANDS (R A Venniker) became restless in the stalls and kicked the back gates which caused TRIPPI T (S Moodley) to rush the front gates. These geldings were removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) PRINCESS HANNAH (R Danielson), GRIFFIN PARK (S Veale), RUGGER LOVER (K Matsunyane) and FINE ONE (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the performance of TRAFALGAR SQUARE (*N Nastili) which raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) In view of the performance of NDAKA (*B Plaatjies) (6.90 lengths, 17/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) PRINCESS HANNAH (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
