THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLIGHT ENGINEER (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) STERLING SILVER (*G Samo-Burthia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) EUPHRATES (L Nhlapo) and SASHA LEE (K Matsunyane) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FLIGHT ENGINEER (G Lerena) and OMNIPOTENT (C Maujean) were bumped out by STERLING SILVER (*G Samo-Burthia), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) FLIGHT ENGINEER (G Lerena) hung in throughout. c) CAPE FLOWER (R A Venniker) hung in in the concluding stages. d) The saddle on SHAMOON (J Penny) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the video patrol footage. e) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with OMNIPOTENT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) PAUL REVERE (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CAPE FLOWER raced without blinkers (declared 29 January 2025 at 08H46). b) OMNIPOTENT raced unshod behind (declared 30 January 2025 at 10H44). c) FLIGHT ENGINEER raced without pacifiers (declared 31 January 2025 at 08H40). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) OMNIPOTENT not striding out left hind; mouth injury. b) FINAL HOPE scalp wound left hind. SCRATCHED: a) CRESCENDO not striding out in front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
