THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKITTLES SKIES (C Zackey) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. b) SALUTE THE FLAG (G Lerena) and THYMETOSHINE (*N Nastili) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, IRISH LOVE (L Nhlapo) was bumped by SKITTLES SKIES (C Zackey), which jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. b) At approximately the 700m, SKITTLES SKIES (C Zackey) was directed outwards and raced in isolation parallel to the outside running rail throughout. c) In view of the performance of ALONE TIME (D Schwarz), (distance 12,85 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Apprentice N Nastili reported that THYMETOSHINE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SALUTE THE FLAG (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP).
