THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DREAM SCAPE (E Webber) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) THREE CHEERS (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. c) KOMESANS PASSION (Y Ramzan) fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DREAM SCAPE (E Webber) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) SKY VELOCITY (X Ndlovu) had to steady when awkwardly placed behind the heels of BLUE PALACE (L Mxothwa), which over raced in the early stages, raced wide into the first bend, was directed inwards and was positioned close to the rail at approximately the 1000m. As a consequence, KOMESANS PASSION (Y Ramzan) had to be steadied and directed outwards off the heels of HAPHAZARD (S Khathi), which had to be eased off the heels of KOMESANS PASSION (Y Ramzan). c) At approximately the 300m QUEEN OFTHE PALACE (MK Katjedi) had to be eased when awkwardly placed between HAPHAZARD (S Khathi), which shifted outwards away from the crop and DREAM SCAPE (E Webber), which was hanging in from the 400m. Jockeys S Khathi (HAPHAZARD) and E Webber (DREAM SCAPE) appeared before the Board and were advised to take more care when their mounts are shifting ground. d) WALKONTHEWILDSIDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
