THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (E Webber) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay.
b) STRAWBERRY STINGER (*N Baboo) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
c) BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Apprentice N Baboo (STRAWBERRY STINGER) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
b) SEE YOU IN A BIT (S Khathi) stumbled shortly after the start.
c) SEE YOU IN A BIT (S Khathi) had to be steadied and was directed inward when awkwardly placed on the heels of WORDSWORTH (C Little), which shifted outwards away from the crop at the 300m.
d) RAVILIOUS (DB Geerthsen) was hanging in from the 300m.
e) Jockey S Naidoo reported that CAPTAIN TIK TOK did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with CRUZADOR. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
g) Apprentice H Moosun reported that RESURGENGE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (E Webber), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 15/02/2025 to 28/02/2025 inclusive) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
i) STRATA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
