THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEMANDING DAVE (M Mjoka) was fractious in the stalls and caught his left hind leg on the running board, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) CHURCHILLIAN (A Domeyer) and DREAMWORLD (S Veale) were restless in the stalls. c) MATROOSBERG (JP van der Merwe) and INDIGENOUS (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 1000m DIAMOND DAYS (C Bantam) was steadied when close to the heels of CHURCHILLIAN (A Domeyer). Thereafter, DIAMOND DAYS (C Bantam) raced in restricted galloping room until leaving the 800m between CAPTAINS ALLIANCE (O Noach) and HEDRIVESMECRAZY (G Wright), which shifted in slightly. Jockey G Wright (HEDRIVESMECRAZY) appeared before the Board and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside in similar circumstances. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DEMANDING DAVE (M Mjoka), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 16/02/2025 to 22/02/2025 inclusive). DEMANDING DAVE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) DREAMWORLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
