THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls VIEW OF THE WORLD (*B Plaatjies) which was slow into stride was squeezed out between BELLA'S PABLO (*M Mbuto) and FIREBURST (M Thackeray) which jumped in. b) ARCTIC FURY (R A Venniker) and BELLA'S PABLO (*M Mbuto) came together and bumped shortly after the start. c) At the 300m JAZZ FESTIVAL (C Zackey) was eased when close to the heels of BELLA'S PABLO (*M Mbuto) which was hanging in from the 350m and shifted in. As a result of this incident STAR OF THE FUTURE (K Matsunyane) was switched to the outside of JAZZ FESTIVAL (C Zackey) to continue its run. d) Apprentice M Mbuto signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of BELLA'S PABLO, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to JAZZ FESTIVAL (C Zackey) at approximately the 300m. Accordingly a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. e) At the 100m GLOBAL MOVEMENT (G Lerena) was eased when awkwardly placed between VIEW OF THE WORLD (*B Plaatjies) and EL REY VIENE (S Veale) which was carried out by JP'S PALACE (A Mgudlwa) which was hanging out from the 400m and shifted out despite efforts of Jockey A Mgudlwa to maintain a straight course. Thereafter VIEW OF THE WORLD (*B Plaatjies) was carried out marginally by JP'S PALACE (A Mgudlwa) shortly before the finish. f) In view of the performance of GLOBAL MOVEMENT (G Lerena) (5.05 lengths and 4/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) JP'S PALACE (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D W Moore was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) STAR OF THE FUTURE raced without blinkers (Advised 14.02.25/09h22). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) GLOBAL MOVEMENT: Girth rub on the left side. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
