THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPRINGSTEEN (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading. b) FIRE ALARM (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BEACH QUEEN (Y Ramzan) over raced in the early stages and thereafter shifted out away from the crop from the 250m and was corrected. b) Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride MAXIGIRL out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 500.00. c) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of RUBY CLAIRE, weighed back in at 56.1kgs, 1.1kg in excess of the weight at which he was declared out (55.0kgs). Jockey C Zackey signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. d) FIRE ALARM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
