OLD BLUE EYES (N Juglall) was stubborn loading.Trainer C Dawson was advised to re-school this gelding prior to his next engagement .BRIDGE OF SPIES (D L Habib) was unruly and reared dislodging Jockey D Habib.The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn.In view of the Starter's report with regard to BRIDGE OF SPIES, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion.Suspension dates: 19 January 2020 to 25 January 2020.BRIDGE OF SPIES may not be presented for repassing during this period.Assistant Trainer C Naude advised.Shortly before the start was effected, BRIDGE OF SPIES nudged the front gate open. The left-hand side gate ricocheted back making contact with BRIDGE OF SPIES head and causing this gelding to rear over backwards.During this incident,the Handler allocated to BRIDGE OF SPIES attempted to restrain BRIDGE OF SPIES. The Board acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2 ruled that this gelding had been restrained and impeded by the Handler and was therefore declared a non-runner.Jockey D De Gouveia reported that MR HUGO did not stride out freely in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m.The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.In the concluding stages, ANATOLIO (C Habib) had to steady off the heels of SWEET TRIAL (R Danielson) which was carried out by CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT (*T Juglall) which was carried out by GRINDELWALD (C Zackey) which hung out from the 300m.SWEET TRIAL (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.Trainer R R Magner advised .SNOW IN SEATTLE was ridden by Jockey M Thackeray (Stewards permission).EASTERN HEALER was ridden by Apprentice N Klink.PEARL OF SIBERIA raced Unshod.BRIDGE OF SPIES raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind MR HUGO raced equipped with blinkers.HOT AUGUST Jockey C Bamtam weighed out at 52,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.The veterinary surgeon Reported:MR HUGO examined post race, nothing obvious detected.Scratched:REBEL RENEGADE cut into right front,BRIDGE OF SPIES non-runner.
