THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDWICKET (E Webber) was unruly behind the stalls and stubborn loading. b) ONE GIANT LEAP (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. c) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE (J Gates) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. d) POISE PANACHE (S Naidoo) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. e) NEMOROSA (C Little) and WINTER'S DRAGON (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIDWICKET (E Webber) proved reluctant to proceed to the start and had to led by a Handler from the 1100m. Trainer L Gila will be advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. b) WINTER'S DRAGON (X Ndlovu) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be assisted by a handler, causing a delay. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. c) SWEET CAKE stumbled badly leaving the stalls, which resulted in Jockey C Zackey briefly losing his right-side stirrup iron. d) Shortly after the start, NEMOROSA (C Little) was buffeted between WINTER'S DRAGON (X Ndlovu), which jumped out slightly and OPERA VERSE (MK Katjedi), which jumped inwards. e) Jockey MK Katjedi reported that OPERA VERSE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey S Naidoo reported that POISE PANACHE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. g) POETIC PRINCESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
