THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLASH LIGHTNING (S Khathi) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) KING'S SAILOR (G Wright) was stubborn loading. c) LEGAL THRILLER (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. d) CRIMSON COMET (Y Ramzan) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls and was slow into stride. e) GRADUATION TIME (K Steyn) jumped outwards and was slow into stride. f) BARZALONA (*N Baboo), IGUGULETHU (C Zackey) and BELOW DECK (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the tongue tie on KING'S SAILOR (G Wright) being re-fitted at the start. b) BARZALONA (*N Baboo) was bumped outwards by CRIMSON COMET (Y Ramzan), which was in turn bumped out by GRADUATION TIME (K Steyn), which was carried out by GLOBETONIC (S Naidoo), which was in turn carried out by POTENT CAPTAIN (C Maujean), which jumped outwards. c) In view of the performance of MR BELVEDERE (C Little), which shortened its stride rapidly from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer JP Nel was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) In view of the performance of LEGAL THRILLER (R Fourie), which over raced in the early stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey MK Katjedi reported that he felt something amiss with GINGER PALACE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding FLASH LIGHTNING (S Khathi), Trainer JVA Strydom will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. g) IGUGULETHU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
