THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PENDRAGON (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) AADEHYA (Y Ramzan) was restless in the stalls. c) KING'S RANSOM (C Habib) was nervous in the stalls and threw its head down as the start was effected. d) FREDERICOS PASSION (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WHAT A WINNER (C Little) and ABSOLU NOIR (J Gates) came together and brushed at approximately the 300m. b) Jockey J Gates (ABSOLU NOIR) dropped his crop at the 150m. c) PENDRAGON (X Ndlovu) shortened its stride in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PENDRAGON, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Jockey. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. e) EXECUTOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
