The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. Due to a mechanical fault, this Race was started manually. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONT TREMBLANT (*S Bungane) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) PROMISE OF FIRE (K Matsunyane) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) BORBORZOR (T Godden) over-raced in the early stages, was hanging out around the turn and thereafter commenced to give ground to the field in the final straight. Jockey T Godden reported that BORBORZOR made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) MONT TREMBLANT (*S Bungane) over-raced in the early stages. c) Shortly before entering the final straight GREEN MILE (S Moodley) was switched out off the heels of MONT TREMBLANT (*S Bungane). d) Leaving the back straight HARUN AL RASHID (A Fortune) commenced to over-race for a short distance. Thereafter this gelding hung in from the 350m. e) Jockey K Matsunyane (PROMISE OF FIRE) and Apprentice J Botes (MIND HOW YOU GO) reported that their respective mounts took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Trainer D C Howells reported that PROMISE OF FIRE was coughing post-race. g) SAXON DYNASTY (S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey S Veale was the rider of CHERRY OH BABY (advised 07.03.2025/10h45). b) Jockey S Hlengwa was the rider of SAXON DYNASTY (advised 07.03.2025/17h00).
